Arthur wrote this song in 1995 as an exploration of using the 4 mallets to create a Soprano-Alto-Tenor-Bass functionality. After the first theme is presented, the Alto, Tenor and Soprano voices harmonize. Towards the end we return to 4 parts. Dead strokes help to enlarge the pallete of articulation possibilities, and are used freely throughout.  The sister song for this SATB exploration is Kaleidoscope, a more technically demanding, longer work.
